Welcome to Children's Voice: CASA, Inc.

Children's Voice: CASA, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, located in Douglas County, Georgia, committed to recruit, train and support citizen-volunteers to advocate for the best interests of children, who have been abused and neglected, in courtrooms and our community. We are empowered directly by the courts and provide judges the critical information they need to ensure that each child’s rights and needs are being attended to while in foster care. Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers stay with children until they are placed in loving permanent homes. For many children, a CASA volunteer is the only constant adult presence in their lives.

We exist to raise awareness of children in foster care and bring positive, permanent change to their lives. With your help we can make a difference. Our website furthers our mission by providing ways for you to learn more and get involved.

Thanks for visiting. We are looking forward to hearing from you.

Simple Ways to Give Back in the Fall

Every day presents opportunities to give back to your community and to your friends and family. As the weather becomes colder, your life becomes more hectic. Take a second in your busy schedule to do a good deed and brighten someone’s day. It is always the simple things in life that count the most. Here are a few ways to, simply, give back during the fall season:

Help your neighbor—Sometimes neighbors are your best friends, and sometimes they are acquaintances. No matter the relationship, brighten your neighbor’s day by raking their fallen leaves. They will appreciate the time taken and the effort you’ve given to their front lawn.

Give at the coffee shop—Give back at your local coffee shop. After waiting in line for your morning coffee, tell the barista you will pay for the person behind you, too. If you have not done this simple deed, you haven’t felt the satisfaction of seeing a stranger’s face light up and smile. Especially on a cold, early morning, picking up someone’s coffee will warm your heart too.

Pick up knitting—If you are searching for a relaxing, easy-to-learn hobby, then try knitting. Knitting is a great indoor hobby. Knit a scarf for a loved one during your free time. You will be more relaxed, and your loved one will be so grateful you kindly made them a scarf.

Send a card—In a world of Facebook, Twitter, texting and email, the thoughtfulness of messages can become lost. Take time to sit down and write a letter to a friend or family member. The effort taken for a handwritten note will not go unnoticed, and it is fun to receive a note back in the mail.

Buy a dozen—Show your coworkers how much you appreciate them by pitching in and buying a dozen doughnuts. Your coworkers will be grateful for the sugary treat on an early morning. To go with the fall theme, pick out pumpkin and apple cider doughnuts.
