Pathways to Stability & Success Initiative
Children’s Voice CASA, Inc. proposes to strengthen advocacy and stability outcomes for older youth and families involved in the Douglas County foster care system. This initiative focuses on structured advocacy, transition planning, and coordinated support designed to reduce long-term instability and improve permanency outcomes for youth preparing for adulthood.
Older youth in foster care face increased risks related to housing instability, educational disruption, workforce disconnection, and limited adult support networks. Through enhanced court-appointed advocacy and structured engagement, CVCI ensures that youth voices are elevated, services are coordinated, and permanency planning remains a priority.
Program efforts will focus on:
Transition readiness and independent living preparation
Educational continuity and post-secondary planning
Workforce pathway development
Financial literacy and resource navigation
Connection to supportive adults and community-based resources
In addition to youth-focused advocacy, this initiative includes structured parent support and peer-informed engagement designed to help families better understand court processes, compliance expectations, and pathways toward reunification. The program emphasizes practical guidance, stability planning, and strength-based approaches that promote long-term family success.
While CVCI does not provide direct clinical services, trained advocates ensure youth and families are connected to appropriate community resources and that systems respond effectively to identified needs. Through coordinated tracking, youth engagement workshops, and collaborative partnerships, this initiative strengthens stability, reduces vulnerability, and promotes positive long-term outcomes for children and families involved in the child welfare system.
