Welcome to Children's Voice: CASA, Inc.

Children's Voice: CASA, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, located in Douglas County, Georgia, committed to recruit, train and support citizen-volunteers to advocate for the best interests of children, who have been abused and neglected, in courtrooms and our community. We are empowered directly by the courts and provide judges the critical information they need to ensure that each child’s rights and needs are being attended to while in foster care. Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers stay with children until they are placed in loving permanent homes. For many children, a CASA volunteer is the only constant adult presence in their lives.

We exist to raise awareness of children in foster care and bring positive, permanent change to their lives. With your help we can make a difference. Our website furthers our mission by providing ways for you to learn more and get involved.

Observe National Courtesy Month Every Month

Although September is National Courtesy Month, It’s never too late to teach people to be more courteous through your own actions. A little courtesy goes a long way. Being courteous is defined as displaying good manners and polite behavior. The small things we can do daily don’t require much effort and show the appreciation and respect we have for the people around us. Bring manners back through simple actions every day. Here are a few ideas on how you can pay it forward:

Remember to share—Remember the preschool mantra: “sharing is caring”? That still holds true as an adult in this fast-paced world. It’s the little things we do every day that count. Share freshly-brewed coffee with a coworker, share a meal with a friend, share dessert at home with family. Sharing will remind yourself to care about others and spread goodwill.

Always smile—A smile is contagious, and you never know when someone’s day needs to be brightened. When passing someone in the hallway, even if it’s a stranger, smile. Smile even if you’re having a bad day. Remind yourself and everyone else to smile.

Roadway rituals—We’re quick to blame the other driver on the road. You can’t change everyone’s attitude towards driving, but you can change your own. Drivers cut off cars in traffic, fail to use the turn signal and run stop signs. This common rudeness can often lead to road rage and accidents. It is imperative to start with your own attitude and be more peaceful when driving. You will be more aware of your own driving and this common courtesy will help make the roads safer.
